Patapsco - Sunday, 6/29, 8am

What: Long Run
When: Sunday, June 29, 8:00 a.m.
Where: Patapsco (Rolling Road trailhead)

For those interested in a non-serious long run, be at the trailhead R2R (ready 2 run) at the late start time of 8:00 a.m. I'll be running between 1:45 and 2:00, so somewhere between 14 and 16 miles in there. Route will be challenging, pace will be "in the 7's".

If it's too slow/fast/short/long don't let that discourage you. Show up and feel the camaraderie of a fun long run on the trails.

If anyone feels like running shorter and a little slower, my brother is going to be in town and I'd guess 90 minutes around 8:30-9:00 is probably his wheelhouse right now. He knows the trails.

So come, it'll be fun.

Sunday Long Run from Mt. V.

A group of us are departing from the Washington Monument at 8:30 on Sunday. We'll most likely start with a shorter loop, but a few of us are running between 15 and 18 miles. The pace will be sub-7:00 per mile, and we'll hit at least a few hills in Druid Hill and/or Roland Park.

Sunday Long Run

UPDATED: Sorry for late notice, but we will meet at 9am at Majumdar's parking pad for the 14 mile Gwynns Falls Trail run. The address is 1321 Clarkson Street. Parking can be found on Ostend Street west of Race Street, from the Post Office and beyond, without need for a permit. It will be a chill run.

It's been a while since I've personally posted plans about "long" running on the weekend, but as this is my last weekend without a race until July, it will also be my last chance to get in a non-race long run.

The details:

I'm looking to go about 13 or 14 miles, which I count on time, so that means in the realm of 95-110 minutes. I typically run my long runs over 7 minute pace, but not slower than 7:30, usually from 7:15 down. I would be okay with running at Patapsco to mix it up, otherwise I would do Gwynns Falls Trail run from Ostend St. The time I would be looking to start would be between 8:30 and 9:00. I know it is Mother's Day and many will be spending the day with family, so if it means starting earlier to accommodate more folks, I am okay with it.

Additional note: due to scheduling conflict, Arjun's Birthday Mile will not be held this weekend. Stay tuned for details from the birthday man himself about when to expect that.

Sunday Long Run from Mt. Vernon

A group of us are starting a long run from the Washington Monument at 7:15 sharp on Sunday morning. Ed plans to run 14-16 miles, and I'm hoping to run 23+. The pace will be a little quicker than our usual group long runs, probably in the 6:30-40 range. Let us know if you are interested in joining us.

Sunday Long Run from Gilman

A group of us are starting a long run from Gilman at 9:00 on Sunday morn. The pace will probably be around 7:00/mile for the first portion of the run and gradually increase to about 6:40. I intend to run 18 to 20 miles, but we can begin with a 12 or 13 mile loop if others are planning a shorter run. Please let me know if you plan to join us.

The Hangover III

Start the New Year off right with a Sunday long run. Several of us plan to depart Gilman at 11:00AM. If you are interested in forming a pace group, coordinate with others or post below. There has been talk of a group brunch after the run.

Gilman Sunday Run

Great work out there today for those who raced and or helped, just giving an update on the run from Gilman tomorrow.

Rollin' from Roland Park: Sunday Long Run

A few of us have committed to a Sunday long run starting from Gilman's parking lot at 10:00. We will probably begin with a 12 or 13 mile loop, taking advantage of the surrounding hills. Those of us going longer will probably add a few miles after the initial loop. The pace will most likely be in the 7:00/mile range.

Sunday long run

Late notice, but if anyone wants to get a long run in before it gets miserable tomorrow, I'm running from Druid Lake at 6:30 am with a couple other ladies. I'm planning on 12-14. I go slow.

Sunday Long Run

IF you did not register for the Westminster Main Street Mile, the event registration has closed because they have met their limit of 700 runners.  It's going to be quite the event.  Wednesday, April 13th at 7:00pm.

SUNDAY LONG RUN PLANS

Depart College Park Metro Station at 6:55am.
Run will be between 13 and 14 miles.
Pace will be likely around 7 for the run.
Temperature high for the day is 58 but morning should be chilly.
Bring a couple of dollars for the Metro on the way back.
Bagels will be consumed at Bagel Place in College Park following run.

So far for the run I think it's Tom, Prada (both original gangsters of the CP-DC run), Pat, Cheese, Brennan.  I will be driving me, Cheese and Pat and will likely scoop up Brennan in FH around 6:15.  I can accommodate one more in my whip, but you either need to be at my house at 6 or Brennan's at 6:15 because those are the only two stops I'm making.  Anticipated time of arrival back in Baltimore is 11:30am.

Sunday Run

Late notice but...

Sunday (tomorrow) 9am
Arjun's parking pad (1321 Clarkson St)

The route will be out Gwynns Falls Trail to some road that takes you to Druid Hill Park. From there we can hit the zoo hills before coming back down through Res Hill/Bolton Hill/Marble Hill and back to the spot.

Last time we did this run it took 2h10m and it was not a very quick pace. We estimated it to be 17 miles, maybe just over. It is very easy to cut off the run when we get back to Dru Hill.

Halloween Run @ Patapsco

Here it is, the much anticipated Sunday Long Run plan. The emphasis should be on the "Sunday" and "Run" portions, less the "Long." The minimum plan will be 11. I likely will not do much more than 12 or 13. If you need to go longer, you can do so and organize whomever else wants to do that.

We shall run at 9am. This means running at 9am, so assemble prior to that. If you are planning on coming, let me know so that I can expect you. If you are running late and it is not terribly late, text or call me so that we know to wait for you. Following the run, we can discuss eating food together.

The trail, for those of you who have not been, is located on Rolling Road. It can be accessed via 95 South to exit 47. The same one as the airport, just go the other way toward UMBC. Then follow signs to Rolling Road. Bang a left, trailhead is up on the right. Can't miss the armada of weekend warriors going for montagne bicicleta. For those of you who may not have run there for a while, the trails have been chewed up pretty hard by the weather this summer, and I expect after tonight's storms they could be pretty bad. Wet leaves, rocks, ruts - so lace 'em up tight.

Costumes optional.
