TNT #23 - September 25, 2007

We were treated to summer conditions today, temps hit the upper 80s and were still around 80 as we set off on our workout. Without a blazing sun it actually felt pretty good. There was a big crowd tonight, I think there were about 17 of us there. The workout was:

3x1600 (hard) with full recovery (3:30)

This was tough because a) we haven't done mile repeats all season and b) we haven't really done anything all out like this was intended to be. Last year we were probably all in better mile shape, because we were doing most of our repeats below 800m, and lots of quarters. This year we're stronger but probably missing a little bit of that raw speed. We'll try and get that going over the next couple of weeks for the final couple 5k/10k races this fall.

A few notes:

I don't think I'm going to make it this Friday to the park. Apparently my little sister is coming down from Delaware and we're going to try and go to the Yankees-Orioles game. That starts at 7, all are welcome to join. Actually I may still try and run at the park, but it will have to be early, like 2:30 or 3.

Saturday's race starts at 12:30. We will meet at Gilman at 10:45 and need to leave no later than 11 to get up there. There may be a fee to race, it would be $20, but last year we didn't have to pay it. Falls Road usually has a tent set up at this race, so that's where we'll meet if you're not carpooling. We'll be there by 11:30 and should start warming up around 11:45. Parking is at the school and may cost $2.

Saturday's Birthday party starts at 5 with bowling at Patterson Lanes on Eastern Ave, just before Patterson Park. We'll play for a little and then head back home around 7 for the fiesta. Come for the whole thing or just a little, it's going to be a good time.
