20-Year Maryland Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is released their 20-Year Maryland Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The final Plan can be accessed at http://www.mdot.maryland.gov/bikewalkplan The Vision: Maryland will be a place where bicycling and walking are safe, practical and inviting ways for people of all ages and abilities to complete their everyday travel. Sound policy will enable communities to craft the best solutions to their unique mobility and access challenges, and to reap the social, economic, health and environmental benefits of expanded transportation choices. Smart prioritization and creative collaboration will ensure wise and effective use of all State resources. Sounds like they want us to hold hands together and go for an unhealthy walk to eat greasy fast food (but that's just the visual of the unhealthy people in the pictures through the 52-pages. More of an FYI - but I'm sure someone may have a small desire to see where future funding and priorities of the program are headed (such as funding $$$ for future paths, etc.). Stay warm out there running!
