Turn Up the Music

It was a pretty quiet weekend of racing, and with the weather shifting from 85 and downright summery on Friday to more typical March-like conditions on Saturday, I don't blame people for hitting snooze.

But the results we had were strong, as Meg DiGregorio continued her winning ways, scooping up some dough at the Northfield Elementary School 5k (18:21).  Sara Breedlove took 3rd, and some cash, for her effort (20:38).  At Susquehanna State Park, Meg McNew finished 3rd at the HAT Run 50k - her first attempt at the beyond-marathon distance.  Her time of 4:58:06 was just a few minutes behind race winner Kristen Van Eron.  In New Jersey, Tim Burns raced the 1500m at the Stockton Invite.  Apparently it only rained during his race, too.  He ran 4:17.64, which is a good start to the outdoor season.  Saturday was also the 12 Hour race out at Moab, where Collin Anderson ran 59.07 miles.  Collin is fastidiously preparing for Old Dominion 100 in June.

Sunday was also pretty chill, with our former flame, Liz Laseter, taking 4th at the Scope it Out 5k (18:59) and Sara Spears running with a friend (28:06).  Out in Frederick, Mike Mashner ran the inaugural Mission 10 Miler as part of his long run, negative splitting his way to a 1:01:33 for 7th place.

Our Purple Drink Athlete of the Week was awarded to Meg McNew.

Bring some warm clothes to the track tonight!
