Wrap It Up

Rhymes so loud and proud we hear it
It's Christmastime and we got the spirit
Jack Frost chillin', the orchids out
And that's what Christmas is all about ~ Run DMC

So we've all seen the results from last weekend's Celtic Solstice, and of course we did an on-the-spot delivery of the Purple Drink Athlete of the Week to Seth Tibbitts. Seth was running with the pack when he hit the NOS and turned himself into a 10 second car. It was as if he literally said, out loud, that he lives his life a quarter of a mile at a time.

Indoor season kicked off this weekend too, with Ed Cheese Aramayo rocking some high school kids in the 1600m and 800m at the blahblahblah showcase at PG. Results will likely never be posted, so I'll just have to take his word, but he won the 1600 in 4:29ish and the 800 in a pretty great early indoor time of 2:02.

In scholastic news, Matty Blaze won the mile at the Bishop Loughlin Games, dropping his standard sick last quarter and finishing in 4:19. This qualified him for the Millrose Games, which is real awesome. In the girls' race, Twink was 4th in 5:07.

Everyone have a great Christmas, if anyone happens to be in town over the weekend and is looking to run, feel free to post on the blog! I'll be back Tuesday and will resume running with the Wednesday Night Run. Additionally, I've mentioned to a few of you my plans to organize a few weekends' worth of long runs (ahead of time), so as a preliminary schedule:

Sat 1/8: Greenbelt
Sat 1/15: Columbia (Club Challenge course/workout)
Sun 1/23: Patapsco
Sun 1/30: ? (I'm in Miami)

I'd like to get down to Club Challenge course for 2 workouts, one on the 15th prior to the 2nd Annual Stott Olympic Games, and then another in February. Trails are always negotiable due to whatever conditions we have as well.

SUNDAY: With the Ravens @ 1:00, and having to leave for Church @ 10:00am, I'd like to start by 7:45 or 8:00am and go long-ish (13 or 14) from the City. Would like to head over toward Carroll Park & head out the Gwynns Falls Trail.

A decent amount of snow is expected - so that may alter the morning to the afternoon. Stay tuned.

Shout if you're around & want to tag along.

Hey Barf - holler at me on saturday or something. I'm gonna be running early sunday as well for about 2.5 hours. I'm looking to start by 7am so I'm sure we can figure something out! Also I'll be running snow-or-shine.

Ha you guys are all over the place!

Scotty you were there last week - I wouldn't exactly call the park "soft". My hip and elbow still have the bruise to prove!

Enjoy the run, whatever y'all do.

ADDITIONALLY I suppose I will set up a NYE Run of some variety. I personally wouldn't want to run too late into the evening, but maybe we'll do something fun...
