Letters to Julia

I received an email last night from Julia telling me about her race that she said over the weekend, a 3000m (outdoors) at the Strands Hi-Performance Meet or whatever they called it. She was on 10 flat pace through 2k, but faded a bit in the last click to finish at 10:04.82 (4th).

Of course, everyone needs to remember that, even though I have significant prognosticating powers, I can't find every race result - particularly of those in Oregon!

Anyway, great job Julia.

We had a bunch of winners over the weekend, including Dave Berdan's MCVETs 10k (33:42) which followed his getting pipped at the line in the 5k just an hour earlier (15:16, 2nd). Kristen Till won the Stoneleigh Stampede 5k in 18:51, and Alex took his second road race of the year at the Fulton Road Race in PA.

Dusty was 2nd in 16:28 at the Ogden Newspapers 5k in WV, while Claire kicked off her tri season with a 25th place finish at the Tribal Sprint Tri in AZ.

Cheese ran a BIG PR (22 seconds) at the MCVETs 5k, taking 3rd in 15:36. In the 10k, Barf was 7th and Mellow Mike was 9th. Cynthia Evans doubled in the 5 and 10. Then Boof got it done, taking 2nd in the 10k in 44:50 (we think it was long). She earned some dollar dollar bills and also a Purple Drink Athlete of the Week honor!

At the Vermont City Marathon it was the Meg McNew show...she ran a 3:17:31 for 22nd place, and that was a 4 minute PR from just a few weeks ago at Boston!

In Memorial Day action, Ben was 13th at the Loudon Street Mile (race report on his blog) and Dave Berardi was 6th at the Remembrance Run 5k.

Coming up this weekend is a big race for Falls Road (Dreaded Druid Hills 10k), and we could again use some help! The race takes place this Saturday at Druid Hill Park, starts at 7:30. Ben and I are doing the timing and could use a few people to help at the finish line. That means probably get there around 7:00-7:15. I know it's early, but you'll also be done early! If you can help, comment or email!
