Tardy for the Party

First, good luck to our many competitors this weekend. Looking forward to seeing some awesome results!

Second, a couple of odds and ends here:

1) Saturday, December 12th, Figgy Pudding 5k in Fells Point. It looks like the race timing will be provided by Wire to Wire, so it would be very helpful if we could get a few volunteers. It's a 9am start time, so we'd probably just need people from about 8:30am til 10:30am.

2) Awards Night 2k9! Last year we held it at the store on a Tuesday. This year we had discussed possibly holding it on a weekend. I'll probably put up a poll, but I want to get some feedback. Our options are to hold it on a weeknight, maybe a Tuesday or Thursday, or to hold it on Sunday, December 13th. This year's awards night is going to be the best awards night ever. Sound off in the comments with your date preference: Tues 12/8, Thurs 12/10, Sun 12/13, Tues 12/15, Thurs 12/17

Awards Night is where we'll go over some things like winter running schedule, winter races, etc.

Keep in mind Awards Night is for everyone, the content isn't too adult so if you need to bring kids, it's cool (as long as we're at the store, I suppose). We're going to have pizzas or some kind of food provided this year, so it will be imperative I get a headcount prior to the night - so RSVP as soon as I let you know the final date!

So I can bring the Gerb army? Was that comment directed at me?

I think you need to find a way to webcast the event ...

I'm planning to be back in Baltimore the weekend of Dec 11-14, so I vote for Sun 12/13 because then I should be able to attend! By the way, I'm already starting to make some contacts in the running community here in Atlanta, so that's good, but I have to say their blog sucks compared to this one!

Justin - that comment was mostly directed towards you. I don't want to hear you complaining about having to, and I quote, "do daddy shit" (he didn't really say that, I made it up).

Claire - we actually were going to try and set something up like that either last year or the year before with Godsey, but couldn't figure it out. I'll work on something.

Jeff - good news! We'll see what the consensus becomes. I'm sure no blog can ever really compare to this one.

Ryan - it's probably a pain in the ass but anything is possible.

I'm currently working on acquiring a projector, I'm sure if I can get that I can do anything.

It looks like I'll be fighting a losing battle, but I'm in town the 17th to the 22nd, so I can only make the 17th. As much as I'd like to be there, I understand that I probably can't. I'll accept my Grammies in absentia.

That's how it always goes BG, a day late, a buck short
