And They're Off!

Here's the link in case you're around today and want to check periodically. Updates won't begin until after 10am our time.

What the hell are you doing up at 5:45 am? Getting an early jump on the 100 things you're going to do today?
And why doesn't the monkey fighting webcast work on my monday friday machine?!

doesn't work for me either.

Not working for me either.

Strap in! I'm about to open some freaking windows.

now i got it to work somehow. on letsrun it said to refresh several times - so, i did that and it still didn't work. so, then i went to the live blog - went back and clicked on the top women link - and boom it worked.
it looks like alyssa came through her last checkpoint about 30 min ago (34.4 mile mark). she's currently in 21st place for women. Her pace seems to be getting a little slower, but her place has been improving - so, maybe it's just a slow section.

wardian is in about 11th - but, his last checkpoint was almost an hour ago. looks like jurek dropped.

I just got thru at almost 5pm and it still says 34.4 mi for her... not sure what that means. Should she have made it to the 43 mile point by now?

My bad. That was only an hour ago. For some reason all my post times are coming up PDT instead of eastern time.

Hmm. I also had some troubles getting it to work. Doesn't work on anything but IE on Windoze. Ug.
Their webmaster should be shot.

This race is way more competitive than I thought. These people must be really fast if Wardian is currently 16th and 15 miles behind the leader.

I wonder what effect altitude has on the East Coasters...

It looks like Alyssa is having a solid race. I couldn't imagine running that long. 50 miles seems doable, but 100? Jeez.

It seems to work eventually if you keep refreshing like Ben suggested. The hippie server in the hills of California being powered by pinwheels and happy thoughts probably can't handle all the traffic.

ah, I stand corrected. It works now. Maybe I wasn't "refreshing" properly on this mac I just got. "F5" seems to just make the keyboard dimmer. LOL.

///MM said...

Yeah- Apple doesn't seem to think it's mac users are savvy enough to want to use the Fn buttons. In firefox hold "fn" and it disables the dimming/volume etc. and makes F5 work to refresh. In Safari refresh is hold the clover-leaf looking button and press R.

Just got thru and it says she went thru 93.5 @ 7:08PDT with an expected finish time of up to 4 minutes ago and the girl who was right in front of her is done...

Well, looks like she came in around 28. I'm wondering what happened to Michael Wardian... 29:40:34, barely finished in the cutoff... He must've gone out too fast and REALLY tanked.

Collin said...

Wtf though, Dean Karnazes, Scott Jurek, and Jenn Shelton all dropped. I'd have expected Jenn and Scott to win, so that's pretty crazy.

Congratulations, Alyssa!

Thanks everyone! I will post a race report soon on my blog, but in the meantime know that your support was a huge factor in why I stayed in the game yesterday!!!

I'm just laughing because Z just figured out that the posts are on Pacific time...

Dude I'm at the beach. My brain turned off last Wednesday.

Wait, now Michael Wardian is listed as 19:32 for finishing time. Am I missing something?
