Trip Idea

Andy G's post about his upcoming rim-to-rim-to-rim hike got me thinking. We have two of our compatriots competing in Arizona on November 22nd - a Sunday. An early flight on Thursday morning - drive to the south rim - hike down to the river - camp or stay at Phantom Ranch. Hike up to the north rim and back to the river on Friday - and hike back up to the south rim on Saturday - drive down to the ironman site - wake up Sunday and cheer on our brothers. As Ryan would say - "piece of cake!"

Who's in?

Due to my inability to commit to anything besides a race more than a month in advance, I can't give you more than a 20% yes. That 80% no is due to the likely possibility of me running JFK the day before. But depending on how the next 6 months go for me, that may or may not happen, in which case the Grizand Canyizzle is my jam.

Plus it would give me the chance to watch as I ensure victory in the TWSS Ironman competition of 2009.

Going rim-to-rim-to-rim is Ryan's jam!

Shoot, I'm in! I'll need a good shakeout before the race.

Actually that would be pretty neat and I would definitely be disappointed to miss it! Then you could probably go to an ASU game on Saturday and party in Tempe all night long.

Also, I don't think ryan would say "piece of cake"....something along the lines of "damn then we can check out the titties on the college shorties" seems more like him.

Geez, I'm not that crass. I'd say that to the guys, but probably not aloud to the girls.

And besides, I'm more of an ASS MAN - oh yeah hint hint nudge nudge wink wink Ben.

Piece of cake. That will be my new motto.

Come on 5 posts and no mention of a rim job. I personally am concerned about hiking down into the taint and sleepin there. Could be dangerous.

i don't know which is more disturbing - ryan or terence's ASS MAN comment. although i'm the target of ryan's comment - i think he was kidding - i'm pretty sure terence was completely serious.

I like the idea of hiking the Grand Canyon but I can't fully commit because I only have my race schedule planned thru June. But I'm pretty sure I won't be running the Philly Marathon so unless I decide to do something crazy like run the JFK 50 miler chances are I would be able to go to AZ to hike and watch the race.

I wouldn't mind meeting up with a bunch of you guys. I want to check the race out as well.

T- there are probably some wild animals running around the canyon that would make you wish for the dogs that chase you in Bmore.

Ryan- you are so gay. I mean you are a F.A.G.

My only question for those thinking about rimming it is: "Syrup or Jelly?"

I prefer syrup.

You know, Vermont, Maple syrup.

Right.

Sounds like fun! I will also partially commit.
