Winter Workouts & Dinner Tonight

As I promised some of you, I will be doing workouts this winter and guess what, they start next week. After much consultation (two mins of our run Monday) Ben and I have decided to start Tuesday morning workouts. Brennan said he was in so the three of us can officially set records. I am open to changing location and time so suggest away. My plan is to start with tempo workouts and transition into mile specific stuff as the year progresses. The first workout (per Ben's sugesh) will be a 4 mile tempo @ half mari pace. As Melissa learned this morning the hardest thing about workouts in the winter is warming up, especially in the morning. If you plan on coming I would suggest being a bit overdressed for the warm-up and we can plan on shedding clothes before we start the tempo.

On a side note: Melissa made a reservation at The Metropolitan in fed hill at 8pm tonight. If you are free and able to make it we will both be much obliged.

What time of morning were you thinking for these workouts?

Off the top of my head I think we should be running by 7am. So meeting 5 or 10 til would be good. I will wait to hear what Brennan and Ben have to say about this before I set an exact time. Would this work for you?

Also, this is the blogs 500th post.

I think 7 should be good as long as it is in/near Fed Hill. That way we should be done by 8ish and I'm able to make it into work by 9. However, I can be flexible.

7am is fine with me too.

I think you guys should do the workout Mel and Jum did a few months ago. 4M through Patapsco in the dark @ stumbling pace.

Or you guys can do my current favorite workout: Sit at my desk and eat cheetos, with the rest being yelling at kids.

Jen, would you say you like your job?

Ha, some days. The end of the semester always gets a little tough and I am currently feeling that with the mounds of work left to do. That is why celebrations like last night, this weekend and next weekend are essential to my well being.

You should talk to my sister who teaches in charlotte, nc. her trailer/classroom got broken into last weekend - they tagged the room with gang graffiti, stole a laptop, and most disturbingly to my sister - stole her tootsie roll pops. then her husband, who teaches at the same school, had to confiscate a knife that a student had in his belt. on top of all that her principle put major pressure on her for 60% of her kids to pass the state exam - which will be close to a miracle. the rewards of teaching!
