XC

Cross country season is upon us; you may notice some new races I've posted.

I'm a huge fan of XC. If Metro Harriers XC knew what the Interweb was, then I would post their schedule of meets. I'll have to rely on Jim for that.

There are a few meets at VCP (Van Cortlandt Park) in New York. An amazingly historic place to compete. The two meets are November 9 and November 30. Neither is a particularly great day fitting into our already busy schedule of partying, but if we could work it out, it would be sweet.

There is actually a meet on the day of the Bull Run race down at Lake Needwood, which is where the USA XC Champs are going to be held. I thought it was in October, but I guess not.

As an aside, if you are racing in an event other than the ones posted on the right and you'd like me to post it, let me know.

What/where is the Godsey Marathon

RM said...

It is the marathon Godsey is running; I'm unsure of the Austrian name that it is actually called, so I shall just call it Godsey Marathon.

Yes, Lake I Needwood.

I'm running the Palma de Mallorca Marathon (officially to be renamed the Godsey Marathon after this year) on October 19th. It's in Spain. On an island. Called Mallorca.

Everything in that last statement proves your life is better than mine.

Yeah Mallorca, boo hoo. Euro trash. Germans freaking sweat the Illes Ballears.

Jen! Take that back! We may not run marathons on islands, but while bgod is dilly dalling in europe you are changing lives of american children who may one day run the world, and I...well I very well may not have a job after this week the way the markets going..so we'll just focus on you.

Pfft - speak for yourself. I'm loaded now that T sold me a few thousand shares of JP Morgan on the cheap. After he won the D Boat race I knew I could invest with confidence. We went to the ATM after the run and he said he would take the money into work and set it all up for me. He said I should get a box in the mail with my 'stocks' (whatever those are) in the next few weeks.

Dang, T, you should have hooked me up, too. I want some Stocks-in-a-Box.

Elf is correct on the Germans "sweating" Mallorca. All I hear about it in Austria is that there are hundreds of Krauts on vacation getting wasted at some place called Ballerman. I'm not making this up. "We" Austrians make fun of them for it. I hope my brother and sister-in-law aren't disappointed that they'll get to Spain and see only a bunch of lousy Germans.

And, no, my life is not better than anyone's. I actually had more fun in Baltimore than I have had in a while. Y'all are the lucky ones. One undeniable fact: no matter where you live, work gets in the way.
