USXC Championships

About a year and a half ago our friend Brian Godsey competed in the 2006 USXC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. It was cold. Real cold. They had to plow snow from the course the morning of the race. Brian finished an amazing 19th place against a top-notch field that included now super-runner Ryan Hall as the winner of the 12k event.

This past year the event was held in Colorado, and it looked cross-COUNTRY. We had no representation.

The 2008 championships will be held on February 16, 2008 in beautiful San Diego. It is a non-team event so the only requirement is that competitors are current members of USATF. But lucky for you, there IS a team competition. Minimum number of scorers is 4, so if we could pull that together it would be sick. While it is no Team Championship (next weekend in Ohio), I think we can agree that SD is a much better place to visit, even if Ohio would have been legit.

So check out the site, let me know what you think. It looks like Justin might be in, and even though I am going to go broke flying to all these races, it would be totally worth it.
