TNT #7 - June 5, 2007

Another great day for a workout. The temperature has been quite kind to us so far, we haven't had a day yet where it's been brutal out there. Don't worry, though, it will come, it's only the first week of June.

We had 17 people on the track tonight, a number of whom had just raced on Sunday. Temperature was in the mid 70s with a slight breeze, humidity was fairly low.

The workout went like this, with recovery time in parentheses:

1000(2:00), 500(1:30)
1000(2:00), 500(1:30)
1000(2:00), 500(1:30)
1000(2:00), 500(1:30)

In addition to this year's group being very cohesive and close on times, I'm really psyched on the fact that we are sticking to the recovery times. Last year I would get some pushback and all the recovery times would get pushed out a couple of seconds. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't make a huge difference, but it does help to set a precedent for how workouts are supposed to go. All of this short recovery will help when the temperature does start to bear down on us. Like I mentioned, this was our third week at 6000 meters of intervals, so next week we'll take a slight step back.

I plan on being at the Park on Friday at 5 to run an 11 mile loop, and then I will be actively spectating the Survivor Harbor 7 on Sunday.

The last three times I have run there have been 1:15, 1:15 and I think even 1:19. I don't see any reason to go any faster than that (1:15 = 6:50/mile anyway). So somewhere around 7's for the most part.

I may not be there ... still sore from Sunday (and the workout?). I am taking today off, we will see how tomorrow goes.

Yeah and you are racing Sunday for some dollars, I would probably stay out of the woods. Not that you have bad luck with breaking ankles and stuff but it would be prudent to stick to the roads for this week.
