For all you geeks...

For those not doing Philly half this weekend, where I will be, here is another racing opportunity (if you feel like traveling a bit). This Saturday is the Run!Geek!Run! 8k in Potomac Park which is a nice flat course in DC, or at least to my knowledge. I looked up last year's race results and anyone from our group would crush the competition (particularly on the women's side).

According to RunWashington, "the top three male and female winners of the third annual Run! Geek! Run! 8K will receive gift certificates, $100 (first place), $75 (second place) and $50 (third place), from Georgetown Running Company. All participants will also have a chance to win prizes, including Washington Nationals tickets and two training sessions from On the Way Fitness. Other prizes include gift cards to local restaurants, such as Ragtime, Rock Bottom, Dunkin Donuts, and Baskin Robbins."

Saturday Long Run

Because of the lack of interest (from the crowd) and the desire to partake in happy hour (from me) I'm running long today (Friday). The Park will still be there at 9am on Saturday if you choose to run.

Anyone up for a long run on Saturday morning? I could easily be convinced to go any where and at any time, but I'll suggest 9am at Patapsco. I'm looking to put in 17, but certainly would take any company I can get along the way. Let me know via comments or e-mail.
