I'm not sure how many years we've been doing this, but it's become a little tradition to run up to Hampden from somewhere downtown to see the lights on 34th Street, and that run is THIS THURSDAY, December 13th.
The suggestion right now is to assemble just prior to 6:00 pm from the Taint (see also: World Trade Center, Inner Harbor) and scope the Power Plant lights show at 6 before heading north on Charles St and zipping by the Washington Monument. From there we continue north, taking Fallsway the back way up to Hampden. We'll stop and check out 34th Street, and then make our way back downtown.
The run ends up being maybe about 8 miles (guesstimate). ALL are welcome to join! If I'm able to run 8 minute pace right now I'll be pretty surprised, so the emphasis of this run is chill. If you feel the need to run faster, you are entirely welcome. But the idea is to have a fun, relaxing run where we check out the winter sights and sounds of Baltimore.
No need to RSVP for this (although if you plan on attending Awards Night on Sunday, 5pm at Falls Road Running, please do that!). Just show up in the Harbor on Thursday.
Side note: I am aware that the Thursday run has been meeting at the same location at 6:30 pm. We are moving the time up to 6:00 pm to accommodate the viewing of the Power Plant laser light show, which runs on the hour starting at 6.
