Weekend Races

There are more than a couple of events this weekend, and I wanted to highlight some events of interest:

St. John's Run in the Valley 5k: we are timing this one, put on by Kelly Ort and her husband.  It's an out and back race in the valley of Reisterstown.  Scenic, no reason it shouldn't be a quick race.  And, just announced by Kelly: CASH PRIZES for top 3 M/F.  Yeah, that's right.  Not huge money, but $75/50/25.  Enough to cover entry fee, that's for sure.  So if you're looking to sneak a super easy win and also grab some dollars, I would highly recommend this one.  9am start time, address is Butler Rd in Reisterstown.

KidsPeace 5k: this one is in Canton and as you may recall from last year was way short.  This year I'm told it's the right distance, but who knows.  It's also pretty hilly as it runs up to Patterson Park Pagoda and comes back to finish in the Square.  But, it's a backyard race, so that's always fun, and there were prizes last year for top 3, but I don't know if it's money, or if it's back this year.
