Stay Fly

Great weekend of indoor racing for our triumvirate: Cheese, Tristram and Alex B. They headed down to the Terrapin Invitational at PG on Saturday and rocked the mile (from the 2nd heat, no less). Cheese ran a new team record for the indoor mile (4:23.84) en route to a 7th place overall/1st in heat finish. Alex dropped his time considerably from just two weeks ago, running 4:29.31. At the PG meet two weekends ago his time for the 1600m was 4:36. And Tristram, who raced in a coaches' relay on Thursday night at a meet at Loyola HS, dropped his time a bit to 4:31.87. All three were under Arjun's old indoor record.

Cheese then went out, and from the 2nd heat of the 3000m, finished 3rd overall in 8:54.70. He won his heat by 20 seconds and really better not get dicked over like that again.

On Sunday, Garrett Ash ran the PG Meet #3, and finished 2nd in the 1600m in 4:45 (of course no results for that race).

Sunday was also the Carlsbad Half Marathon out in California, and Andy Gell, who hasn't gotten a shout out in the results for a while, finished in 1:34:15 for 191st. Great job Andy!

While everyone ran tremendously this weekend, I was very impressed by Alex B's performance, and so he is this week's Purple Drink Athlete of the Week.
