Quickie but a goodie

Wanted to get this up before the weekend recap post appeared......
There's a SUPER sweet pic of Dave P. in Cascade Crest (August) in this article on ultrarunning.com
The clouds/mountain behind him is probably the coolest thing ever. Should make everyone want to run mountains!!! Link is here and in the title. Plus he has created a sweet cape out of his shirt which I'm sure will warrent some sort of nickname...

Yes, I am commenting on my own post 1st.

But no, I will not drop like 3 of my own comments in a row like Collin.

And I have a purpose. Apparently DP doesn't have access to comment yet so in the meantime here's his response:
"Some explanation of the "cape" is in order . . . At an aid station earlier in the race, somebody told me that it was going to get "very cold" on the other side of the mountains, and that I would be foolish to run the rest of the race in a t-shirt and shorts. Turns out I was foolish to believe him, as I put the jacket on per his advice, and was sweating profusely about half an hour later. However, since I didn't have any pockets in my shorts, the
jacket, which did have pockets, turned out to be useful for holding gels and cookies and about a third of a PayDay bar that I discovered several days later when I was doing laundry. Also of note is that the jacket is really
warm and waterproof, and I didn't want to risk dropping it at a random aid station and then never seeing it again. Hence, it became a cape. With about eight miles to go, and no more need to hoard junk food or look like more of a superman than I was for running as far as I already had, I dropped
the jacket with the guy who was crewing for me. Had I known that this picture was going to wind up where it did, I might have worn it all the way through the finish line on principle. :P

Okay, now somebody come up with a nickname. :)"

Now I have access to comment, and I would just like to say that I agree with everything that Alyssa just said.

a cape NEVER needs an explanation.

Dudes, it's obvious; he's the Caped Cascader.
