Stanky Leg

A lot of you guys had that stanky leg working over the weekend, really awesome race results!

Dreaded Druid Hills 10k: There's no wonder why none of us really ever do this race - it's hard! Kristen Till and Christine Trzcinski went 2-3, not far from one another. Mike Prada was running with his dad and Emily experienced her first DDH.

Stoneleigh Stampede 5k: Justin, the Big Man, doing his neighborhood race. I've always felt that it's important to race backyard races, and, whenever possible, defend that home court. Justin has won this race the last 2 years. This year he came into the event with a laundry list of reasons why he shouldn't win, but he rejected the naysaying and went out and won. 3 straight. And he ran 16:55, which was good enough to surpass me on the top 10 list.

MCVETs 5k/10k: This is a great little downtown Baltimore race and due to rising costs of permits I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last year they are able to hold it. Nevertheless, it gives racers the opportunity to do both the 5k and the 10k. Dave Berdan kicked off the double by winning the 5k in 15:57, and then taking 2nd in the 10k. Meg McNew took 3rd in the 5k and then 8th in the 10k, and Cynthia Evans ran a near season best in the 5k and backed it up with a great 10k. In the 5k, Kris ran a straight up 16:54 for 3rd place and a little bit of cha-ching. He pretty much said F YOU to Justin and inched by him on the top 10 list. And Chrissie grabbed the women's W in a really stellar 16:58. In the 10k, lots of ladies racing. Newcomer Jackie Truncellito at 3rd, Denise at 4th, Eileen at 5th.

Stillwater Marathon: Collin Fergie Anderson took 3rd in this challenging marathon and recorded a new PR.

And hot off the presses, Melissa Bosslet wins today's Remembrance Run 5k in Columbia, in a super fast time of 18:30.

This made this week's Purple Drink Athlete of the Week very tough, but ultimately I had to give it to the 3-time winner Justin Gerbereux. It's tough being the hunted, and winning any race 3 times straight is really hard. Great job buddy!

RSVP for this weekend's Team Family Picnic, 10am at Patapsco, so I can let you know what to bring!!
