PDRBUCK

Jen and I are already registered for our favorite race of the fall: Philly Distance Run. The date is September 20. My brother apparently has become a runner now and PDR will be his 4th half marathon of this year. Anyway he sent me a text letting me know that there is a promo code that will save you $10 on registration, so the race will be $55. And I'm pretty sure the day it expires is when it goes up to $75, so you're really saving $20! So just go to http://www.runphilly.com and enter the code PDRBUCK.

Post in the comments or add your name to the Calendar if you're planning on doing this one.

ALSO, please make sure you RSVP for the Team Picnic on May 30! Just send an email or post in the comments. Thus far I've only heard from 12 people and I think 5 are from Justin's family.

PDR Check
What is the deal with the picnic? I will be in DC on the 30th but could come up for socialization depending on the time and place.

Picnic is at Patapsco and will take place between 10ish am and whenever, but probably won't exceed like 1 or 2pm I'd say unless we're really just having that much fun!

i'm probably going to skip out on philly this year - but, i think kendra and i are going to run the Virginia Beach RNR half on sept 6th.

Ahh VA Beach...Ben did you know that it is like 60% female entrants? They also really embrace the RNR aspect with really sweet concerts after the race. If only it wasn't Labor Day...

I'm leaning towards doing the phili run. i'm doing NY marathon on Nov 1, is it a good idea to race this half 6 weeks before?

It's not NOT a good idea...

Yeah it's actually great timing. You're obviously a strong dude and doing a half marathon on an easy course 6 weeks out is something you'd have to do anyway I'm sure.

And if you're lucky you can follow my line of success which is have a decent day at PDR and then fail on an epic level at NYC!

Clearly that won't happen to you, but yeah, it's an awesome race and you should do it - we always have a fun time in Philly for this one.

Sweet, I signed up. Actually, I signed up before reading that comment above. I also misread your first line, which I thought read "it's NOT a good idea".

Ha, I was hoping that would trick you....
