Upcoming Races

What's up weiner cousins and bajingo sisters? It seems as if the sun is coming out of its winter hibernation, which means it's race time. There are a ton of fly races approaching, so don't be a buster, get on the good foot, sucka! Here are a few that I can think of that will provide you with either chances to a) sneak a W, b) earn some $ or c) run a fast time.

This Sunday alone there are 4 local races, 3 of which have dollars on the line: Pike's Peek 10k, Howard County Life Festival Half Marathon, GW Parkway 10M and Port to Fort 6k.

Saturday May 2: Fiesta 5k. Start/finish at the Power Plant. Last year's winner was 15:57. 2nd and 3rd were 17:03 and 17:13.

Sunday May 3: Making Tracks for Celiac 5k/10k. Start/finish at DuBurns Arena in Canton. 5k is probably the 3.2 mile race that is typical of the DuBurns course, and the 10k is new this year. 10k distance will be made up in Patterson Park. Last year's 5k winner was 16:08. PB and Ryan Schmidt were 2-3 in 17:10 and 17:42

Sunday May 3: Billy Korrow Memorial 5k. Towson. 1-2-3 were 17:27, 17:40 and 17:59.

Saturday May 9: Dundalk Pond Skipper 5k. Remus won it last year in the 17:20s. I feel like Arjun should do this one, try and get the W, celebrate his birthday that night and then earn a PDAW.

Saturday May 16: Kennett Run 5k/10k. Really good race in a quaint little town in PA about 75min away. http://www.kennettrun.net. Chrissie typically goes up to this one.

Saturday May 23: DREADED DRUID HILLS 10k. If you're not racing, Jim can use your help as a volunteer!

Sunday May 24: MCVETs 5k/10k. Due to the city not giving any events a break anymore, this could be the last year of this race, and it's always been a good one, so support it!

Sunday June 7: Race For Our Kids 10k. Scott Phin's race, a race that's for a great cause AND because Scott loves competition, there's a lot of money on the line. http://www.raceforourkids.org/

Sunday June 14: Survivor Harbor 7. As always, money on the line for the win, and for the first Survivor. I hope Kip can finally get the Course Record this year too for some big dollars. http://www.activesurvivor.org/Programs/index.cfm?p=sh7

Saturday June 20: Baltimore 10 Miler. 2nd year for the event, apparently it's got a sick premium jacket and Clif Bar will be served on course. Phil Turner won last year, Spider was 2nd. I know Spider's going to do this one again this year. http://www.baltimoretenmiler.com/site9.aspx

Just a head's up that I'm looking at Saturday, June 20th as the date for my 3rd annual Summer Solstice Toga Party.

Ha, I remember that from last year. I feel like it may have been a weekend later last year?

I say that because I recall Dudes Night Out (1) being the night of the B10, because it was the night before the BWC5k, which was 6/21-6/22 last year.

Ahh feels like just yesterday. Which leaves me to ponder the dates for some other upcoming awesome things, e.g. the next Dudes Night Out (basically Arjun's bachelor party) and HOF4.
