Santa's Slay 5k

You are all aware of my feelings on Harm City events, but upon perusing the interweb for upcoming races, I came across this race in Bel Air. For our purposes, we shall call it Santa's Slay. I bring it to your attention for a couple of reasons. Saturday morning in Bel Air.

1) It's a quiet weekend in the running circles and someone looking to snag a W could find it here.

2) There's allegedly cash money on the line for top 3 M/F.

What I propose is that someone (not myself) do this race and win/place/show. Then, use this money for good at our party that evening.

Warning: While I wouldn't expect a ton of fast people showing up, the usual suspects will probably be there since it's their terrain. This could include a Loper or two, or the dude that whooped us at the Bel Air Mile.

And I finally registered for Boston, so I'm set.

WHOA - Eileen made it out! Awesome! And also quite random, did you know she was going to be there?

unfortunately i was late - but, i don't think it made a whole lot of difference in our times. I think Arjun even left me in the dust in the last 400 meters - even though i ran 5 minutes later ; )

thanks to arjun for setting up the course - which is as flat as the illinois prarie of his youth.

Ben, surprised to find a route in Baltimore that is flat, was also surprised to know it's the same run we do all the time, with a few different turns. Ha. And of course Arjun is going to leave you in the dust, that's what Native Americans used to do, hence Billy Mills.

i think what you mean is that the white man leaves the indians in the dust. then, realizing that the dust may be valuable, screws them out of that too.

Ryan, I emailed Arjun the night before. I wasn't sure if he'd check the blog again. Also, I too was left in the dust of Arjun, which is exactly what would be expected if we started at the same time, but by my estimate I probably had a 6 min. lead. . . no racing for me Saturday.

Also dusted- except I got it on Hull St. instead of in the last 400m.
For next week I propose a staggered start so we all come flying down the bike path towards the sci cent at the same time.
