Alex's bike was returned to him tonight after police caught the little bastards riding around Fed Hill. So the tandem has been found, it's another Festivus miracle!
We should make a movie about that. Seriously, how often does that happen? You're a lucky kid, Alex. Bikes like that only come around once in a lifetime. Hold onto her, if you can.
Maybe they do things different in Fed Hill? My parent's car was stolen in Hampden and the police didn't do jack shit, even though they knew where the car was! A few weeks after it was stolen, the thief abandoned it in a parking lot near Mondawin. The police ticketed, booted, and eventually impounded the car. They never called us despite our filling of a timely theft report and several checkups. The city even threatened us for not paying the tickets placed on our stolen car! Fucks!
Oh...we never had to pay the tickets though. By the time it was all straightened out, Geico already bought us a new car so really, it worked out pretty well.
Alyssa, mostly I relied on your calling the police that day and when they didn't show up or anything I figured it was pointless, seeing as they have bigger fish to fry around here and I didn't want to bitch about a bike.

That's great news! Who is dumb enough to ride that thing around the same neighborhood in which it was stolen? Rookies.
Now if only my bike would resurface :(
Thanks for everyone's support and help! It's good to have the tandem back and once I build up my new road bike I think it's earned a serious overhaul.

Ryan, I think the key part of Alex's success was in calling the police and filing a report.

...and then you found $20.
