SJMCR2R 5k

St. Joseph's Medical Center Run to Remember 9-11 5k Run/Walk was this morning, looks like some nice weather, as I recall the course in years past has always run long (or slow) but it attracts some competition for being a Thursday morning at 7am.

Dave Berdan took 4th in 15:56, while Chris Chattin placed 11th (17:44) and T finished just behind in 12th (17:48). In perspective, Justin ran 17:47 for 10th last year, which is where we first met JT Gerbereux).

Anyone running tomorrow (Friday)? I'd like to try and go a little earlier, say 4 instead of 4:30, but I won't know what time I'll be back in the area until mid afternoon. In other news I ate it HARD last night on my bike. In 7 years of riding I've never fallen off my bike, and due to a mishap with my bag - my wheel swallowed it up - I went straight over the bars. The pain in my ankle and hip adds to my already injured knee, should make running even more interesting for a few days.

Good luck Kyle in this weekend's Parks Half, Arjun/Ben in whatever DC 5k they're doing, and happy birthday tomorrow to Sean McCarthy and Saturday to Claire!

Good luck in your races, dudes. I have recently confirmed my entry in the half marathon out in Wachau (www.wachaumarathon.com) on Sunday. It will be my first ever race longer than 10 miles, and only my third ever longer than 10k. I'm scared.

Great quote Alyssa.

BG I'm proud that you're stepping up to a distance I know you'll crush. All the best my friend.

Fiddle Sticks... I thought nobody was racing this weekend, thats the only reason why I woke up at 4am to take chrissie to the airport and muscle thru a 5K at 7am.

Elf, I forgot to tell you not to fall off your bike. I'm sorry to hear that you did, though. I hope the rash clears up quickly.

The rashes turn into scars but the scars turn you into a real cyclist. You are now ready to race road with me next season.
