Philly Distance Run - Weekend Plans

This will serve as our race instructions for the upcoming weekend.

Expo: 9:00 - 5:00 on Saturday at the Convention Center, 1101 Arch St. It's walkable from where we're staying.

Hotel: We are staying at the Sheraton Center City (NOT University City, like last year). It's about a mile from the race start, just a straight shot down Ben Franklin Parkway. I believe Kronn (my new name for Kris and Donna) is/are staying there. Me, Meljun, Ben and Sara Spears are there.

Dinner: Chrissie has provided us with two Italian options. I will call to see if we need a reservation anywhere due to our size, we'll probably look to go between 6:30 and 7:00. This should be suitable for all people's preferences.

Race morning: The race starts promptly at 7:45 on Sunday. Obviously we each have our own rituals, so plan accordingly. We can leave our stuff at the hotel, and go back afterwards. Race temperature will probably be cool.

Post race: After the race we'll come up with a meeting place, but if we get separated we can just go back to the hotel. Not that I'm in a hurry to get out of there, but let's get ourselves moving. If some would like, we could make our way back through Newark/UDel and stop at Arjun and Ben's favorite Bloody Mary spot, the Deer Park Tavern.

I'm still working on our plan for driving on Saturday. Ryan O - leaving after 2 is going to cut it real close. Last year we left at 12:30 and didn't get to our hotel until 4:30, then had to sprint to the convention center.

Who on EARTH is dirty chewbacca??! You'd think I'd know because I obviously sent him/her an invite. I have no idea.

Jen, I will contact you later. Sara Spears is still kind of unaccounted for as far as a ride at this moment, I don't know if she could go Friday night yet or not. I'll discuss.

McCarthy - we better see you at Bull Run Reunion Run/Birthay Party next weekend!

Ha, it's just Justin!

And finally, does anyone need a Falls Road singlet for the race?

If you DO, let me know ASAP as I will only have tomorrow to be able to pick one up for you. I think we should be good.

What does this Bull Run Reunion/Birthday Party entail? I'm down, I'd just like to know what sort of punishment I am in for.

Bull Run = 3 mile cross country race at Hereford High School, site of the Maryland State XC championships. It's a high school meet that has a race in the middle of the day (12:00pm) for coaches/alums. No cost. It'll be our third straight year of doing this.

Birthday Party is an Olympic theme this year. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately, representing a country or sport. The party starts at 7pm here at 3903 Fleet St.

My mother has ditched me for her other friends, so I will be staying in the hotel with everybody. I'm planning on parking my car by the start line Saturday night so that I can warm up from the hotel then change into racing flats and discard of warm up clothes. If anybody wants to leave anything in my car to have at the start/finish let me know.

I would be up for the bel air mile.

i'm going to spend most of the next week planning my scathing remarks to arjun which i will deliver as i pass him at bullrun.

Yeah my goal is to now beat Arjun at Bull Run. The double will be a challenging feat to pull off, but it can/will be done. We'll need to be in Bel Air by about 8, it's an expensive Charm Shitty race so if you want to do it, register this week as opposed to race day. It's like $20. Bull Run is free.
