Annapolis Triathlon (1.5K Swim, 38K Bike, 10K Run); A 2:08.03 finish for Ryan McGrath!

I have been in Maryland for over two years and never really made it to Annapolis … I had no reason to go there. I did not even know that it was USA’s capital at some point but I did know it is the home to the US Naval Academy and Maryland’s capital. That’s just me.

Anyway, I headed down there today to watch the Annapolis Triathlon. Our own Ryan McGrath a.k.a Elf was getting it done and that was reason enough to get my tail up early and make a trip down to Maryland’s capital. I had been told that the course was not fan-friendly but we (Sara, Eve and I – mutual friends) managed to see Ryan at the bike-run exchange point, saw him at mile two-ish and at the finish!

Congrats to Ryan for his 2:08.03 and a 4th place finish for 25-29 age group! Work nicely done.

Way to go Ryan!! The Severn must be nicer than Centennial Swamp.

Actually, I prefer Centennial Lake in May I think to the Severn. Thanks to Kip et al for making the trip down, it was nice to have some support there. I have done so many races in my life and normally I just go by myself, which I don't mind, but it is cool to have friends there. I was disappointed with my run, very happy with my bike, indifferent on my swim. All I know is that because of how slow my run was, some kid from Fed Hill Runners only finished 1 minute behind me - aahhh! Gotta fix the leg soon!
