Taking just about 3 minutes off her previous best half marathon time, Christy today dropped it like it was scalding hot and, in her effort, put many of our half marathon times to shame.
Thank you Mike Zero for being a good sport. Ben is on a mission to bring everyone down. I am going to start calling Ben "Kanye West" or "Serena Williams"
Actually Alyssa can be Serena Williams. Their legs are about the same size.
Look, both half marathon courses are pretty darn easy. Parks quite literally just runs downhill in the same fashion that Ben's beloved NCR runs downhill (but in the north direction, right Ben?)
I forgot about Brennan's melted cheese joke. Thankfully Brennan has a full-time job that keeps him very, very occupied. Ha.
Actually, I think PARKS is difficult. Although the first two miles are downhill and very fast, it's hard to get a rhythm on the rolling, ever-turning RCP Trail and the last 5k is slightly uphill over gravel.
come on guys. ryan will come home in a few weeks - we'll go to a corn maze - ryan will not rest until he finds every post (or post hole) - and we'll put this ugliness behind us.
Ben brings up a good point- if anyone has plans to go to a corn maze, haunted field, etc in the next several weeks, post on the blog (or at least invite me)
And here are some more same-day results:
ReplyDeleteMike Zero took 5th OVERALL at the Delaware Diamondman Half Ironman in a time of 4:37:02
Pat McLoughlin, on nary a wink of sleep, went 2:17 at The Nation's Tri
The results are still screwy (it says the winner was 54 minutes) but Cheese went 1:16:56 at the Chicago Half Marathon
Tom Stott went 17:38 for 6th at Police Pace 5k, which was the first road race me, BG and MGP did together back in 2005...
CHRISSIE BEAT CHEESEEEE WOOOOOOP WOOOOOOOPPPP
ReplyDeleteThat's really mean.
ReplyDeleteBut because of the way you wrote it, also pretty funny.
But we know nothing of the two courses as well.
Nice race cheese!
ReplyDeletechicago = flat. Chrissie melted Cheese.
ReplyDeleteparks = net downhill. Great job both of you.

OHHHH SNAP yeah it's not very nice is it
boston is a net downhill too - does that make it easier than chicago?
ReplyDeleteactually i wouldn't have said anything, but I can never turn down an opportunity to use Brennan's "melted cheese" quip.

I was just remarking last night to our friends that its been so long since anyone's said anything mean to me about my size.....
ReplyDelete"so long"...or about the same amount of time that you've been out of town.

ReplyDeleteAlyssa, as I sat on my gurney for 4 hours at the ER last Wednesday, they did in fact check for H1N1 virus and I did not have it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry my big legs must be in the way of me feeling bad for you!!
ReplyDeleteWill someone please inform Alyssa that she and I are no longer friends? Thanks.
